Corporate Instant Messaging Issues
Instant messaging (IM) is now a growing means of communication within companies. As such, this also presents certain risks, just like most IT applications. After all, IM not only allows people to exchange text messages, it also enables the sharing of files, which could include pictures, business accounting sheets, operation formulas, and so on. So, of course, once the IM network gets hacked, a lot of complications would definitely arise. Many intellectual properties would probably leak out and this can be nothing but detrimental to the company. To avoid all these, proper IM security measures need to be imposed. Message encryption, log keeping, and using guaranteed secure networks are some of the best options.
