Disposing of Company Hard Drives

A lot of companies store sensitive information on computers. What happens then if the time comes that the hard drives of those machines have to be upgraded? The old disks should not just be casually disposed of, that is for sure! This is because even if those vital files have been deleted and the hard disk reformatted, information can still be retrieved through forensics analysis. In other words, all your company’s data is not yet safe! Before you panic though, there is one way you can mitigate the problem and that is to do a military-grade wiping of the data within. If not, drilling holes through the hard drive plate would do the trick, but note that the remains still need to be disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.
