Identifying Hacking Attempts

Although firewalls and anti-viruses are excellent to have in your computer to combat hacking, they are not always effective. So it is advisable that you learn the tell tale evidences of hacking attempts for you to counteract them immediately. One of those is an abnormally high volume of outgoing traffic, even if you are not uploading anything on the Web. For asymmetric digital subscriber line and dial-up users, this is one of the sure signs that your computer is being compromised. For cable users though, this is quite normal. Aside from this, suspicious-looking and unknown files in any drive root directory can also be a sign of malicious people trying to gather your personal data. So, just be on the lookout for these things and increase your protection against hacking!
