There are a lot of threats facing IT systems these days. One of the most common is the mishandling of employee passwords. This kind of security breach most often occurs when the passwords are written down, shared with others and not changed on a regular basis.

Computer viruses threats

When an unauthorised person with malicious intentions gets hold of these passwords, he or she can use them to penetrate a system and alter or steal data. Other threats are computer viruses, programs that can alter a computer’s operations. These viruses often get into a network through e-mail attachments, but can also be picked up if a corrupt website is visited. Some of these computer viruses can either damage or delete important programs and files, while others can crash a system and cause the loss of data.
