VoIP Security
VoIP stands for Voice over Internet Protocol. It allows the delivery of voice communications over networks such as the Internet. It is therefore subject to the many threats that are present in cyberspace like viruses and worms, thus eliciting the need for security measures. Some of these security measures that you should install in your system are firewalls.

VoIP providers and gateways
There are firewalls that have been designed specifically to work with VoIP systems. These can open and close ports as needed. Another method you can use to secure your VoIP system is encryption. Should the VoIP data packets be intercepted by hackers, the encryption would render them unusable. It is also an excellent idea to have multiple Internet connections, VoIP providers and gateways in your organisation. This form of redundancy would allow you to continue using VoIP even when a virus crashes one of your systems by simply switching to another unaffected system.
